Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about what this service is, how routing works, what it costs, and how your information is handled.
What is Dock & Door Dispatch, exactly?
It's a request-routing service for commercial door, loading dock, and gate repair in Dallas–Fort Worth. You describe the problem once, with photos, and we route that structured request to independent local contractors who may contact you. We don't perform repairs ourselves.
Are you a contractor? Do you fix the door?
No. We don't own trucks or employ technicians. The company that shows up is an independent business that contracts directly with you. We're the intake and routing layer, not the repair company.
What does it cost me?
Submitting a request is free for the business that needs the repair, and it stays free during the pilot. You pay the contractor directly for the work, on terms you agree with them. We don't mark up parts or take a cut of your invoice.
How fast will someone respond?
We can't promise a response time, and we won't pretend to. We're a 2026 launch routing to independent contractors, so anyone guaranteeing a specific arrival window for us would be making it up. If your situation is urgent, say so when you submit — and for a true after-hours emergency, our confirmation screen also lists companies that advertise 24/7 service on their own public websites so you can call directly.
Do you screen or guarantee the contractors?
We ask contractors who apply to carry insurance, have real commercial experience, and provide written estimates, and we review every application ourselves. We do not claim a 'vetted, licensed, certified network' — verify insurance and a certificate of insurance (COI) yourself, per contractor, before work begins. Our guide to choosing a contractor walks through how.
What information should I have ready?
Photos of the equipment and its data plate, what type it is (door, leveler, gate) and roughly its size, what it's doing now, whether it's stuck open or closed, the dock or door number in a multi-bay building, and how to reach you. You don't need a manufacturer or model number — a photo answers more.
Do I need the manufacturer or model number?
No. Most people reporting the problem don't have it, and it's not required. Photos of the unit and any data plate give a contractor more than a model number would. Every hardware question on the request form can be skipped if you're not sure.
What areas do you cover?
The Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex — Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Irving, Garland, Mesquite, and the surrounding submarkets. See the service area page for the full list. We don't run fake city storefronts; it's one honest coverage hub.
Who sees my request and photos?
Independent local contractors we route it to, so they can decide whether to contact you and quote. Submitting requires your consent to that sharing — it's the whole point of the service. The privacy policy covers what we collect and how long we keep it, and you can request deletion any time via the privacy request page.
Is there a warranty on the work?
Any warranty is between you and the contractor who does the work — we don't perform repairs, so we don't warrant them. Ask each contractor about their parts and labor warranty and get it in writing along with the estimate.
Can my company get requests through the platform?
If you run a door, dock, or gate company in DFW, yes — apply on the For Contractors page. It's free during the pilot, and we review every application personally.
